Cuban Dayron Robles wont Attend Barrientos Memorial
Santiago Antunez, Robles trainer, told ACN news agency at a press conference today that his trainee is physically well and he is going through a training stage to reach his optimum sport shape.

Antonez said that this race will still be very attractive since there are other athletes that are developing their skills fast and will bring color to the event like Dayron Capetillo, Ignacio Morales, David Arzola and Yoandri Portilla, among others.

The Cuban trainer added that in the 100 meter event there will be great rivalry because host Anay Tejeda will be challenged by other two Cuban racers Yenima Arencibia and Belkis Milanés, added to American Candice Davis, who shows a 12.98 seconds as personal barrier.

Esteban Brice, Cuba’s Athletics commissioner, pointed out that the Barrientos Memorial and the First American Cup of Combined Events will be useful for Cuban athletes to compete in August at World Championship in Berlin, Germany.
