The presence of Lazo in the sister nation is within the framework of the commemorative activities for the 65th anniversary of the birth of the notable Caribbean leader, born on May 29, 1944.

Maurice Bishop, a very close friend of the Cuban Revolution, was the main driving force behind the construction of Grenada’s International Airport with the cooperation of Cuba.

The airport bears witness to the historical bonds of friendship between the two peoples, Granma newspaper reports.

During his stay, the top Cuban official will hold talks with Grenadian governmental authorities and will hold exchanges with Cuban voluntary workers in that country and with members of groups in solidarity with the Cuban Revolution.
