Carilda, National Literature Award, has a huge literary work that includes lyric, epic and erotic poetry with more than twenty books published in Mexico, Colombia, Spain, the United States, Germany and Cuba, among other nations.
The award that pays tribute to Alberti, the last example of the well known Generation of 1927 in Spain, will be handed in to her by Aitana Alberti, the daughter of the famous poet and president of the International Poetry Festival that takes place every year in Havana.
The guest of honor treasures many recognitions, among them the one given to her by the Front of Spanish Affirmation from Mexico and the Spanish-American Competition from the arts and sciences association from Wahington. They are all well kept in the Calzada de Tirry 81, in Matanzas, about 100 kilometres to the east of Havana.
With almost 87 years, she is still offering her work to the public, she maintains an active life in the Unión de Escritores y Artistas de Cuba (Union of Writes and Artists from Cuba) and she is also still holding a monthly gathering in the Palacio de Junco Museum that has been on for more than two decades.
