 Around a dozen of Cuban films under Debate in Las Tunas during the 16th National Festival of Film Cinemazul
Some of the main Cuban tapes to be debated by the members of film clubs are Memorias, Lucia, Retrato de Teresa, Papeles secundarios, Clandestinos, and La bella de la Alambra, among others.

Simultaneously in Tunas Cinema, main venue of the contest, some other national films will be projected in homage to 50th aniversary of the Cuban Film Industry.

The Cuban cinematography is recognized internationally by the quality of its main producers, such as Tomas Gutierrez Alea, Humberto Solas, Fernando Perez, Manuel Octavo Gomez, Orlando Rojas, Juan Padron and Santiago Alvarez, among others.

The cinema was introduced in Cuba in 1897, two years after the Lumiere brothers showed their invention in 1895 and due to the momentous importance of this cultural industry, the country created the International School of Cinema and Television, in San Antonio de los Banos, Havana, in December of 1985.
