Later he studied in Soviet Union in Moscow State University. His scientific interest deals with theoretical nuclear physics. He has published many scientific papers in Cuba, Spain and Russia. Then he headed Cuba's nuclear Agency and started the construction of Cuban nuclear power station with the Soviet Union.

The Cuba's nuclear Agency now works in a number of areas in nuclear physics, biotechnology and nanotechnology.

Today Russian and Cuban scientists discussed the developing of a number of directions in modern science.
