Machín García, a specialist from the center, said that results have been very positive from using what is commonly known as a poison for treating certain types of leukemia.

The Trioxide arsenic treatment is produced in Cuba and provided free to all patients who can benefit from it.

Dr. Machín García noted that in 2007 and 2008, 10 children were treated with trioxide arsenic, 9 of which are in complete remission thanks to the treatment.

“Patients who suffer from leukemia receive treatment from a multidiscipline team of specialists at our center and require a strictly controlled environment to be able quickly detect any toxic complications.”
