It should be enough to mention the album Celina, Adalberto y Frank, in which he was the producer, arranger and performer: Días y flores (the first album by Silvio Rodríguez, as performer and producer) and A Bayamo en coche (producer and arranger for the Son 14 orchestra).

He has also produced movie and series soundtracks for Cuban television, among them Hasta la Victoria Siempre, music for the Argentinean movie under the same name; Milagros with the singer Anabel López. Fernandéz is the joint producer of the CD Todo Mozart (Cubadisco Award). He has also taken part in many recordings as performer as well as arranger.

The famous piano player has been considered by specialized critic as one of the best five life classical piano players and in this edition of the Cubadisco he presented an album with the Puerto Rican singer Danny Rivera. The musical jewel is called Dos trovadores by the EGREM label.

In his catalogue as composer there are more than 200 pieces for choirs, symphonic orchestras, chamber orchestras and there is a special attention to be paid to his diversity of compositions for the cinema and television, with which he has achieved important awards in different events.

He has also received many awards and distinctions, among which stand out the First Degree Félix Varela Order, the Distinction for National Culture, the Alejo Carpentier Medal, the Education Medal, the Máximo Gómez Machete, the Bogota Schield, among others.
