Popular Cuban filmmaker Enrique Pineda Barnet premiered in this capital his most recent film La Anunciación (The Annunciation), assumed as a sort of moral testament that refers to family separation and intergenerational antagonisms.

With a luxury cast, headed by Veronica Lynn, Broselianda Hernandez, Hector Noa, among others, the film was presented to an audience as part of the activities to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC).

The filmmaker said to be moved, after 20 years without premiering a film, and highlighted to have reflected in The Annunciation the essence of these times. Love each other beyond all differences, because there is no other protection than ourselves, he stated, paraphrasing the movie's final scene.

Author of memorable films, like Soy Cuba (I am Cuba), Giselle, Mella, Aquella Larga Noche (That Long Night), and La Bella del Alhambra (The Beauty of the Alhambra), Pineda Barnet is preparing an autobiographical novel and has five other films as immediate projects.
