Cuban Youth Rather Learn a Trade than Pursue University Training
The station's Website reports that 60 % of the 133,000 junior high school graduates choose technical and trades training.

Education Ministry official Nestor Ruiz says they meet the country's need to train more youth in technical and agricultural specialties.

A total of 36 technical specialties nurture Cuba's labor system, ranging from skilled workers, computer technicians to electricians.

Ruiz assured that senior high school studies guarantee enrolment for those who would like to pursue a university education, while junior high school provides students with a comprehensive cultural background.
