Cuban Leinier Dominguez Heads Chess Ranking in the Americas
Now the Caribbean player occupies the place 23 in the world ranking of the FIDE, fact that demonstrates his continuous ascent to be among best 31 chess players in the planet.

Undoubtedly, Leinier's performance in the strong tournaments Corus, in the Dutch city of Wijk ann Zee and in the world strongest competition, held in Spanish city of Linares, were the proper scenarios for his consolidation on the top.

Famed players are behind the Cuban, such as the Ukrainian Sergey Karjakin, champion in the last tournament of Corus (2, 721); the Russians Evgueny Alekseev (2, 716), Vladimir Malakhov (2, 709) and Sergei Rublekvsky (2, 702), the English Michael Adams (2, 703) and the Hungarian Judit Polgar (2 693).
