Cuban Journalist and Former Diplomat Carlos Lechuga Passed Away
Tuesday's official Granma daily reviewed Lechuga´s revolutionary history.
Carlos Lechuga was born in 1918, created alongside Enrique de la Osa a section entitled: "I Cuba", which was considered one of the most emblematic journalist spaces on the island and Latin American.

He fought against the Batista dictatorship and at the triumph of the Cuban Revolution, became one of the country's top diplomats in different international forums.

Lechuga is mainly remembered as Cuba's ambassador to the Organization of American States, OAS, where he defended the island against that entity's political attacks.

For his commitment with the Revolution and his professional history, Lechuga received the Jose Marti National Journalism Award and the title of Doctor of Honoris Causa in International Relations.
