Cuba to Present Advances in Clinical Pathology and Laboratory Techniques
The event, to be held at Havana's Convention Center until April 3, will be attended by national and international professors, who will share their knowledge in this field by way of keynote lectures, courses, workshops, symposia and free choice themes.

Works on the application of health promotion, prevention, diagnosis and recovery will be debated during the four-day meeting. Among the themes under discussion will be endocrine and metabolic diseases; mother-child health; stress by oxidation; the role of labs in critical patients; immunology and immuno-hematology; and biochemical markers.

Also included will be regulation, training and accreditation in laboratories, laboratory medicine based on evidence, medical genetics and molecular biology.

The Cuban Society of Medical Laboratory Workers was created on December 17, 1945, at the former Havana Medical School, and was the first in the American continent to be part of the International Society of Clinical Pathology, of which it is a Founding Member.

In 1997, it adopted the name of Cuban Society of Clinical Pathology, and it's headed by Dr. Enrique Abraham Marcel, who is also the president of the Organizing Commitand of the Society's 7th Congress.
