The competition will be staged at the BGZ Arena (Pruszkow), a roofed velodrome with a capacity for 3,500 people. This year's championship will give one more medal for a new event included in the program, the Womens Omnium, consisting on five events: sprint, 500M time trial, individual pursuit, scratch and points races.
The five Cuban cyclists to participate in the championship made history in the third phase of the World Cup in Cali, Colombia, where they won one gold medal, three silver and two bronze in total, even though they had not competed in many international events in that season.
Yumari Gonzalez, Yudelmis Dominguez and Dalila Rodriguez had the best performance in the team pursuit winning the gold, while the three silver were won by Gonzales in the scratch and points race and by Lisandra Guerra in the 500 meters. Guerra also won the two bronze medals in keirin and sprint.
