Cuban experts pointed out that the island's delegation is headed by Leuris Pupo, the Central Americana and Caribbean champion and a gold medalist at the Pan-American Games in Rio de Janeiro 2007 in the rapid-shot pistol modality.

Other delegation members will be Reinier Estopiñán, Laina Pérez, Juan Francisco Pérez, Juan Miguel Rodríguez (bronze medalist in Athens 2004 in the skeet modality), Alfredo Torres and Servando Puldón.

The tournament will be a good opportunity for the Cuban shooters to prepare for the Central American and Caribbean Games in Mayagüez (Puerto Rico) next year.

Rifle shooter Eglys Cruz, bronze medalist in the Beijing Olympics, will not attend the championship because she is pregnant.
