Laboratory of Oral Liquid Medications, only of its kind in Cuba, will increase the production

The oral solution of zidovudine will be among those medications, used in the treatment of sick children of AIDS, and whose growing demand in the world could turn it into an exportable item, the leader indicated. MEDILIP will also insert in its industrial line the denominated Risperidone, and micro-crystalline cellulose dedicated to combat basic gastritis.
Alarcón specified to the National Information Agency (AIN) that the laboratory will surpass in about 2.5 million the emedicines elaborated during the previous year.
The institution, he explained, will also increase the analytic capacity and precision in the control of the quality of preparations with the modernization of the central laboratory where advanced technology will be introduced.
In 2008, MEDILIP achieved a productive registration of more than 30 million bottles of medications, which allowed substituting imports of vital medicines as Tramadol in drops and letting the Cuban government save 500,000 dollars for innovations.
