During the opening session on Sunday, International Women´s Day, the participants discussed important issues of their agenda, like the role played by Cuban women in the country´s economy.

The delegates also debated issues like the formation of values and the defense of the Homeland, the role of women in the country´s economic development, leadership, community work, international relations among other themes.

The Federation of Cuban Women has over 4 million members in its institution organized in over 77 000 base organizations throughout the country.

Also participating in the congress were members of the State, Government and Communist Party.
