Un puente de solidaridad (A bridge of solidarity) gathers 37 photos of people, family members and friends who support the struggle to obtain freedom for five Cubans who have been unjustly imprisoned in US jails for more than ten years now.

Known internationally as the Cuban five, the men were imprisoned after uncovering information of terrorist activities being plotted against Cuba by ultra-rightwing groups based in southern Florida. One of these five heroes, Antonio Guerrero, is also an artist and he drew a series of pictures based on the photos.

Mirta Rodríguez, Antonio’s mother, spoke about the strong support given by the government to her son’s cause and noted how important this and international solidarity has been for her, her family, and the other relatives of the Cuban five.

Mirta Rodríguez said she recently received a call from Antonio and that he said he was doing well, despite the situation, adding that he fells confident that the Five will eventually be victorious.

First Secretary of the Provincial branch of the Communist Party Osnay Miguel Colina took part in the opening, speaking about the strength and determination of the Cuban five and the example they represent for the new genera.
