Nearly 110 000 medical consultations were made in the mountainous areas of Fomento, Trinidad, Yaguajay and Sancti Spiritus, this territory’s municipalities under the Cuban Plan Turquino project.

On the other hand, over 8 800 inhabitants were benefitted with the so-called pharmacist-of-the-community service, a new drug distribution program intended to take the drugs to faraway communities.

According to a recent evaluation meeting, Sancti Spiritus’s governmental and health authorities are currently implementing strategies to improve the living conditions of the rural inhabitants in this province.
