The diplomats from Egypt, Lebanon and Syria thanked the gesture represented by the festival and ratified the presence of the best writers of that genre in their countries.
Abdel Fattah Ezzeldine, the Egyptian ambassador, highlighted that this event could contribute to more knowledge on Arab poetry; while Tony Badawi, his Lebanese counterpart, highly valued the efforts dedicated by the Cuban government and people to organize the exchange.
As it is common, during the festival –from next May 25 to 30- the World Poetry Board In Defense of Humanity will make its pronunciations, there will be a seminar on Arab literature, readings and exhibitions.
At the end of the presentation, the poet and novel writer Miguel Barnet, president of the UNEAC, shared with the huge group of diplomats, who expressed their satisfaction for the lyric festival.
More than a hundred creators from every continent will come together in the event in Havana, under the slogan Poets and peace constructions in the Middle East.
