Dominican Republic and Cuba will Sign New Bilateral Accords
Upon his arrival in Havana today, Fernandez said that both parties will sign accords in the areas of agriculture, technology, information, education and in the elimination of visas in the case of diplomatic passports.

President Fernandez said the exchange will be multiple and will strengthen bilateral relations between Santo Domingo and Havana, which were established at diplomatic level on April 16, 1998.

The visitor announced his participation in the 11the International Encounter on Globalization and Development Problems, which kicks off today in Havana with the attendance of over 1, 000 specialists from 52 countries.

Fernandez will also visit the Juan Bosch Department at the University of Havana, which is jointly working on successful projects with the Dominican Republic.

President Leonel Fernandez is also scheduled to hold talks with Cuba´s head of state Raul Castro. He will visit places of historical, scientific and social interest in Havana and in eastern Santiago de Cuba city.
