Students and personalities of Culture in Holguín and the country, gathered in the Main Hall of the Provincial Museum La Periquera of this city to honor the teachers. During the meeting, Rolando Ortega, director of the National Art Schools, presented the distinctions to the nominees.

The Arts Education Award was instituted in 1997 by the National Center of Art Schools and the Higher Institute of the Arts (ISA) and it is the major prize delivered in this type of education for the Work of a Lifetime.

The award granting ceremony will take place next December.
