New Cuban Comedy a Box-office Hit
The Cuban-Spanish co-production, directed by Juan Carlos Tabío, tells the story of a Cuban family in an imaginary town whose lives are turned upside down with the news of a multi-million dollar inheritance that would make all their material problems go away.

The film features the cream of the crop of Cuban actors, including Jorge Perugorría, Enrique Molina, Paula Alí, Taimí Alvariño, Vladimir Cruz and Laura de la Uz.

Other popular Cuban productions that have come out over the last year are Personal Belogings, about the theme of immigration; El viajero inmóvil, about the life of Cuban writer Lezama Lima and his novel Paradiso; and Omerta.

Another Cuban movie currently on at theatres is Los dioses rotos, about the Cuban underworld, selected by moviegoers as the most popular film during the December 2008 Havana Film Festival.
