Accidents Are the Number One Killer of Children in Cuba
Doctor Valdes said that most fatalities of people under 19 years of age are due to traffic accidents, drowning, and electrocution. He said that even though for the past four years there has been a reduction in the number of cases, still one such fatality occurs every two days.

Doctor Valdes urged the families and the community to take responsibility, while urging the media to run systematic campaigns on accident prevention to support the National Accident Prevention Campaign launched by the Health Ministry since 1995.
