This is the first work in multiple media formats by a clarinet and piano duet produced in Cuba. It comprises pieces of contra-dance, son, feeling and jazz music as they are played here in Cuba.
All the pieces were composed by contemporary Cuban musicians. These include, among others: ‘Balada del amor adolescente’ by Sergio Vitier; ‘Sonata para Clarinete y Piano’ by Andrés Alén; ‘Preludio No. 2’ and ‘Monólogo para clarinete solo’ by Javier Salva; ‘Son a Tina’ by Roberto Valera; ‘Martes tres de junio’ and ‘El sitio del corazón nos pertenece’ by Beatriz Corona; ‘Capricho No. 2’ by Alfredo Diez-Nieto; ‘Zunzún’ and ‘Contradanza’ by Jorge López Marín; ‘En lo oscuro del alma’ by Eduardo Morales, and ‘Mar, arena y monte’ by Jorge Triana.
