The album Havana Nights is the first one by clarinet and piano duet produced in Cuba
Released by the record label Colibrí Productions and recorded at the Abdala recording studio, it was produced by renowned pianist Ulises Hernández –winner of several Cubadisco prizes in different categories. These include two Cubadisco grand prizes, one in 2007 with ‘Heitor Villa-Lobos. Cinco conciertos para piano y orquesta’ [2cds + DVD], and then again in 2008, with the DVD ‘Mozart en La Habana’ (Mozart in Havana), which includes pianist Marita Rodríguez, playing one of Mozart’s piano sonatas, and some excellent liner notes from renowned Cuban musicologist Ana Casanova.
