Nancy Morejón a piece of Cuba in France
She came to Paris once again, a driving force of her long trajectory in which the translations enriched her career. Before that, in 2004, she won the Order to the Merit of the French Republic by her literary work.

This time she was distinguished with the Doctor Honoris Causa titles by the French University Cergy – Pontoise, in a solemn ceremony in which were decorated three personalities, as was explained to Prensa Latina.

The US physicist and mathematician Michael Aizenman, professor of the Princeton University, Eros Roberto Grau, the Brazilian jurist and Sala Steitie the French poet and translator were awarded together with the Cuban dramatist and essay writer.

"There are many emotions because I was graduated from Havana University in 1966 in French language and literature, with the influence of the ideas of Che (Ernesto Guevara) and Fidel (Castro), with the discovery of the Cuban revolution", she said.

I have had recognition words to Doctor Alba, who recently died in Havana, as a symbol of the teachers staff, she said.

To her, to the French Alliance and to the Havana University I owe all the French I know, as well as to the Doctor Graziela Pogolotti, my dissertation tutor and to my friends Elsa Rodriguezx and Talia Fong, she added.

Nancy Morejon indicated that last October was published by the University of Salamanca, Spain, a book with a selection of her poems and she keeps working for the diversity of the culture.

"The poetry must be written, no matter the format, the important is the expression of a literary thinking. You have to always feel the inspiration, even to have a cup of tea", she commented.
