In Cuba New Polio Vaccination Champaign in Eastern Province
The first stage of the vaccination campaign includes infants from 30 days to 11 months and 29 days, while the second stage will supply another dose to the same group, and a reactivation vaccine to children up to 9 years.

Some 48,854 children will receive this prevention against polio, a disease eliminated in Cuba since 1962, unlike many other countries of the world where there are more than twenty million people affected by this infectious and viral disease that causes damage to people’s motor functions and may even cause death.

After the Triumph of the Revolution in 1959, the application of vaccination campaigns in Cuba has contributed to the eradication of diseases like polio, diphtheria, measles, rubella, whooping cough and mumps, as well as neonatal tetanus and meningitis. In Cuba currently 11 vaccines against 13 diseases are being applied.
