Madrid Mayor Attacks on Cuba Nixed
On that issue agreed here the General Coordinator of the coalition Izquierda Unida (IU) Cayo Lara and the mayor of Andalucia city Puerto Real, Jose Antonio Barroso, in statements to Prensa Latina.

They both headed the march on Saturday in support to the Cuban Revolution attended by about eight thousand persons who also repudiated the anti-Cuban actions pf Aguirre, a national leader of the conservative Partido Popular (PP).

When referring to the rightwing policy governing the Madrid Autonomous Community, Lara stressed that those who backed the invasion on Iraq have no moral, ethical or political authority to pretend giving lessons on democracy, values or principles.

They are the same who look the other way when Israel attacks the Palestine civil population of the Gaza Strip, said the leader of IU.

Lara also demanded the lifting of the blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba half a century ago and claimed that the new US government returns to Cuba the territory illegally occupied in the Guantanamo naval base.

For his part, the mayor of Puerto Real described Aguirre as a phylofascist, member of the high class and aristocracy who know nothing about the suffering of the people or the poverty generated by neo-liberalism.

Barroso denounced that the PP and Aguirre maintain close links with the counter-revolutionary groups of Cuban origin of Miami, “the same kept by former Spanish president Jose Maria Aznar, because they all represent the same thing.”

They know that Cuba is a threat to the neoliberal system over the world and a reference to those who defend another possible world, because if Cuba is stopped, Latin America is stopped together with the current emancipating processes, he said.

Aguirre and the PP have perverse interests, despicable and unwanted towards Latin America, while Cuba will be remembered in history as an example of dignity and resistance, he stressed.
