In the ceremony, held in the cultural center Huellas, of Las Tunas city, was recognized this founder of the Festival of Oral Narration Alive Word that is developed in this territory of the east of Cuba evrey year.

The eve representatives of the scenic arts payed homage to the National Hero of Cuba, Jose Marti who days after the massacre at Villanueva Theater wrote his dramatic poem Abdala.

During this cultural days of theater, that will run until next Sunday 25, the theater for children Guinol will present the play Mariposa Amarilla (Yellow Butterfly), while the company theatrical Huellas will show the play Saquemos los trapos al sol (Let Us Expose the Secrets) Las pericas (The Parrots), in the cinema 28 de septiembre, venue of this contest.

For the closing day of Villanueva Theater the actress Veronica Hinojosa, accompanied by the folkloric company Onile, will offer the show De nuestros ancestros las invensibles (The Undefeated Ones of Our Ancestors).

These days of theater are carried out in Las Tunas to commemorate the bloody events that took place in Theater Villanueva, of Havana, on January 22, 1868, date chosen to celebrate in all Cuba the Day of the Cuban Theater.
