According to the digital edition of Radio Rebelde the importance of the release goes beyond its philatelic-postage significance, as it shows the excellent state in relations between Cuba and Russia.

The measurements of the Cuban stamp are 1.3 x 1.7 inches; while the Russian stamp measures 1.18 x 1.6 in, said Radio Rebelde. The face value is 75 Cuban cents and 10 rubles respectively, and they show the image of Argentinean-born revolutionary Ernesto Che Guevara with a Cuban flag as a background.

Up to date, Cuba has released joint stamp issues with China, Brazil, Indonesia and Iran.
