 Cuba Heart of LatAm Pedagogical Expertise
This biennial gets prestige among Latin American educators, because it allows the exchange and upgrades on the most modern pedagogical experiences in different educational fields.

Also, this congress highlights among the few spaces created for the exchange among teachers of different countries, cultures and projections.

Teachers, university, academic professors, trade union and student leaders will converge from January 26 to 30 in the Havana Convention Center.

The director of the Central Pedagogical Institute, Justo Chávez, considered that of the feedback propitiated by these events, educational policies become more effective.

Started in 1986 and with biennial character from 1993, the congresses of Pedagogy have also rescued the scientific character of the education, lost during the peak of the neoliberalism.

Chávez believes that Pedagogy 2009 will help to elaborate a philosophy on this matter, with a theoretical course still without defining.

"The Latin American pedagogy needs to rediscover its path, because education only allows putting mankind up to the height of its time", he pointed out.

Parallel to the congress, encounters among participants will take place.

Also, many visitors will verify the Cuban experience in education, which achievements in 50 years are considered an international paradigm. Different Cuban educators will teach courses on matters of great interest for the training of those that have the responsibility of teaching.

According to the convoking of the Ministry of Education, this scientific event wants to associate actions to complete the goals agreed in regional conferences in 2002 and in 2007.

In this aspect, Chávez estimates that pedagogy recovers the scientific character that lost because of the application of neoliberal policies.

"The contradictions stimulate progress", the educator pointed out, and mentioned Cuba as an example of commitment with the education in function of the Latin American integration.

For example, Venezuela and Bolivia got rid of the illiteracy with the Cuban method "Yo Si Puedo" that taught 3.6 million people in Latin America to read and write.
