Cuba Pays Homage to Louis Braille in his Bicentennial
Among the activities to take place in this capital city are the awarding of prizes of a contest on the importance of the method created by the French blind man, which was won by Pablo Torres, from Arroyo Naranjo, and another for tactile reading whose winners were Ernesto Macias, from Cerro, and ÃAngel Naranjo, from Boyeros.

Also in Havana city an exhibition was inaugurated in the Zacaras Alvisa special reading area for the blind, in Diez de Octubre, and there was a children’s reading contest in the Abel Santamaria Special School.

The contest on the importance of Braille and his method, announced by Faro Magazine, and the ANCI literary one, is being awarded with works by authors from all over the country.
