Cuba to Produce Modern Contact Lenses
The announcement was made by Leonor Henriquez, director of Drugstores and Optician’s Stores at the Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), during the 8th Congress on Pharmacology and Therapeutics that is underway in central Villa Clara province.

Henriquez said that these contact lenses are more comfortable, they do not harm the cornea and can be washed, among other advantages.

According to Granma news daily, the specialist added that Cuba currently imports lenses for almost 800 patients who suffer from advanced myopia and other serious vision conditions.
She added that, today, the main problem in the 204 optician’s stores and 17 facilities for the production of lenses in the country is the instability in the supply of bifocal glasses.
