Great quality of the works to be presented at the 30th edition of the New Latin American Cinema
114 materials, consisting in feature films, documentaries, cartoons and opera prima will compete in Havana from next 2 of December. The festival will present 28 unpublished scripts, 26 posters and a total of half a thousand movies in and out of competition.

Regarding the three decades of the festival, Giroud stated that the event have resisted the pass of time, thanks to its identity and clear purposes, always associated with the life in Cuba and of several generations.

The Honour Corals, to be delivered on the first day, will distinguish the work of masters of cinema, such as Paul Leduc, from México; Miguel Littín, from Chile; Jorge Sanjinés, from Bolivia, and Nelson Pereira dos Santos, from Brazil.

Among the personalities who confirmed their assistance to the Festival are the British actress Vanessa Redgrave, the Colombian writer Gabriel García Márquez and the Mexican filmmaker Francisco Vargas, as well as the 98% of the directors who are competing for the Coral awards.

Movies Che, by Steven Soderbergh, Ceguera by Fernando Meirelles – based in the novel Essay about Blindness, by Jose Saramago – and the Cuban documentaries "Los cine sones de Cuba" and "Titón, de La Habana a Guantanamera" will be exhibited as special presentations.

Giroud stated that one of the new things in this edition is the new award First Latin American Copy, focused in the industry – production sector, to incentive the creation in the area.
