A Computerized Axial Tomographer was installed in the province to allow doctors to make a more accurate diagnosis on patients from Holguín and neighboring Las Tunas and Granma provinces.

In that regard, the new apparatus allows physicians to study the patients without using invasive techniques.

Experts pointed out that the piece of equipment will be used when conventional X-rays and echograms are not enough to make a diagnosis.

Modern technology is an option in Cuba's health system, as authorities are interested in improving the quality of medical care.
