Thanks to the hard work of technicians and experts with the Information and Communication Ministry (MIC) and the quick arrival of materials to the work site, the system coulbe restored witing a short period of time, Andres Rodriguez, MIC delegate in Camaguey told ACN.

All the national TV channels, radio stations and land and mobile telephone services are already available, said Rodriguez, who also announced that installation work of fibre optic cables in Santa Cruz del Sur were brought forward to the coming week instead of beginning next year as formerly scheduled.

This way the municipality will be less vulnerable to weather events similar to Paloma, that left the area cut off.
