The event aims at the continuation of environmental protection studies and allowing scientific analysis of the main hazards and threats humanity is facing.

Challenges of environmental development in the 21st century, armed conflicts and their impact on the environment, gender and environment, and Cuban environmental law in the 21st century are other subjects included in the agenda.

The seminar is sponsored by institutions such as the UN Environment Program's Regional Office for Latin American and the Caribbean, the World League of Green Lawyers, and Cuba's Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment.
