When receiving the minister and other members of the Cuban delegation, Putin welcomed with joy the occasion to have the Cuban diplomat in Moscow.

He also expressed with great satisfaction that Cuba-Russia relations are strengthening. Meanwhile, Perez Roque expressed thanks for the immediate Russian response to offer humanitarian aid to Cuba after the damage caused by Hurricanes Gustav and Ike.

The two sides agreed on the need to continue bilateral efforts to foster political, economic, and cultural links.

Referring to Perez Roque"s proposal to dedicate the 2010 International Book Fair of Havana to Russia"s literature and culture, Putin called the idea wonderful.
