Some 1500 Angolan students will be taking college courses in 2009 in Cuba
Angolan Agency for Studies Director Jesus Joaquim Baptista said the program would allow Angolan students to complete university studies in health, education, sciences and engineering, beginning in February 2009.

According to the official, the program was delayed due to the passage of hurricanes Gustav and Ike through Cuba.

The agreement between both nations was revived during the official visit of Angolan President Jose Eduardo dos Santos to Cuba in September, 2007.

A similar agreement was signed after the African nation won its independence in 1975, and allowed some 18,000 Angolans to graduate in Cuba.
