Among the Cuban speakers at the meeting were Adriana Perez and Olga Salanueva, who are the wives of two of the five Cubans held in US prisons for having penetrated Miami-based anti Cuba groups, reported the Granma newspaper.

The meeting included workshops and round table discussions about the Cuban revolution and its persistence for 50 years. Marta Rojas, Cuban journalist and writer participated in the workshops and gave facts about the background of the Revolution.

According to the Granma report, Belgian personalities taking part in one of the round tables paid tribute to Cuban women. They appreciated in particular the life and heroic work of the Cuban revolutionary fighter, Vilma Espin.
