The Cuban diplomat gave details about the successful development of bilateral relations and other plans of cooperation in the fields of health, sports and education, among others.

Morales recalled that next November 5th will mark the tenth anniversary of the arrival in Guatemala of the first contingent of Cuban medical personnel after the devastation caused by hurricane Mitch.

The Cuban ambassador also thanked the Government of Guatemala for their support of a resolution against the US economic blockade against Cuba that was overwhelmingly approved by the UN General Assembly last Wednesday.

Participants in the meeting expressed their solidarity with the Cuban people and government and their satisfaction for the approval of the Cuban resolution at the UN General Assembly.
