The Cuban delegation will include Yanet Bermoy (48 kilograms), Yalennis Castillo (78 kg), Idalis Ortiz (+78 kg), Yordanis Arencibia (66 kg), Oreidis Despaigne (100 kg) and Oscar Braison (+100 kg).

Anaisis Hernández (70 kg) is another delegation member, but she might be replaced, because she is recovering from surgery.

Cuba won 11 medals (two gold, five silver and four bronze medals) at the 2007 World Championship in Rio de Janeiro and the Olympic Games in Beijing.

In both events, Japan finished first, winning a total of 16 medals, including seven gold, three silver and six bronze medals.
