Los Van Van to perform in Los Palacios is one of the most damaged regions of Pinar del Río province Cuba
Created in 1969 by Juan Formell, the band will play in the celebrations area of that locality, immersed into an overall recovery process after being slammed in all the social and economic sectors, especially in the housing of Sierra Maestra village.

The event is sponsored by Clave Cubana Agency, through which many national artists join their support to the spiritual rehabilitation of the affected, who as typical Cubans will dance to the rhythm of one of the most prestigious salsa band of the international stage.

Van Van has been awarded many distinctions and prizes in and outside the country and Juan Formell, its director, (bass), received the World Music Award, granted by the World Entertainment Organization (WEO) to personalities that have made great contributions to music around the world.

Along with Formell, the award was also granted to French singer Charles Aznavour and American musical producer Quincy Jones; the WEO chose 10 personalities of the planet to grant only three awards, which was according to Formell a great honor, not only for him, but for Cuba as well.

This popular band will contribute with their art to the recovery of Los Palacios, where wind gusts over 340 Km/h were registered in some spots of the region.
