Isabel Monal and Fernando Martinez Heredia, both winners of the National Award in the category of Social Sciences, as well as philosopher Aurelio Alonso and writer Jorge Angel Perez make up the Cuban delegation that will participate in the event along with nearly 200 intellectuals from 60 countries.

On this occasion, the main theme of the meeting, which begins at the Teresa Carreño Theater, will be: ‘Transitions towards Socialism: Cultural, Social, Economic and Political Aspects’.

The program of the event includes public seminars and discussions on topics such as democracy, agriculture and the world economic and political order.

Integration as an alternative to unipolar globalization and political, social and economic transition towards Socialism are other topics that will be analyzed.

Also taking place in parallel with this meeting will be the General Assembly of the World Forum of Alternatives.
