The France-Cuba Committee of Toulouse, in Midi-Pyrenees region, where Fonsorbes is located, and the city hall carried out a political-cultural act in solidarity with the Five, as Labanino and the other four Cubans are internationally known.

Fonsorbes' Mayor Pierre Duplante made the announcement on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the imprisonment of Labanino, Gerardo Hernandez, Rene Gonzalez, Antonio Guerrero, and Fernando Gonzalez.

Bernard Riballand, president of the France-Cuba Committee explained the work done in the region to make known the cause of the Five.

He highlighted the importance of their activities in Miami to prevent an escalation of terror acts against the Cuban people.

Leyde E. Rodriguez, political counselor of the Cuban mission in France, expressed thanks for the gesture of solidarity with the Five, and stressed they are an example of dignity for those supporting the world battle for their release.
