Cuba Plans to Host Americas Cup
The proposal came from the North, Central American and Caribbean Association and the Athletics Confederation, Molina told the weekly Jit.

It is an acknowledgement of Cuban athletics. Cuba's organizational prestige is a guarantee, said Molina, who is also the vice president of CACAC.

Cuba also wants to host the Central American Championship and the Caribbean Championship, which would be held at the recently-remodeled Pan-American Stadium in July 2009.

Molina will attend an extraordinary congress of the two regional organizations on October 23 in Bahamas, where participants will vote on Cuba's hosting the two events and will discuss the prospects of athletics until 2012.
