New Zealand Applauds Cuban Culture
The forum, organized by the Victoria University of Wellington's Latin American Institute and the embassies of the Latin American and Caribbean countries accredited there, was attended by some 100 experts and representatives from different New Zealand organizations and institutions.

Gabriela Lopez, political counsellor of the Cuban embassy, referred to the principles and programs defining Cuban culture since the first years of the Revolution, and its internationally renowned achievements.

She stressed the need for culture to help create new ethical principles, and be at the service of national development and strengthening of national identities.

Cuba has made huge efforts amid great difficulties arising from Washington's hostility, however, the diplomat highlighted, but the Cuban government has been able to maintain cultural development programs at the service of the people.
