The official noted the importance granted by the Russian government to relations with Cuba, and expressed solidarity with the Cuban people and his country's will to assist the recovery works.
In that regard, he said his delegation would assess Cuba's material needs and confirmed that power generators, food and humanitarian aid will be sent to the Caribbean Island soon.
Russia was the first country that sent humanitarian aid to Cuba after Hurricane Gustav hit the country, at the initiative of President Dmitri Medvedev himself.
Sechin added that this commission would work to enhance industrial relations in the naval transportation and the energy sector, mainly.
Cuban Government Minister Ricardo Cabrisas welcomed the Russian delegation, who returned home on Monday.
