took the crown with a 64.88-meter throw that relegated Romanian Nicoleta Grasu (62.48) and American Stephanie Brown-Trafton (62.23) to the second and third spots, respectively.
Meanwhile, also on Sunday, Misleidis Gonzalez gave Cuba a bronze medal in the women’s Shot Put event with an 18.55-meter throw. The competition was dominated by Valerie Vili (19.69) of New Zealand and host Nadine Kleinert (19.42).
Cuba concluded the event with two crowns and a bronze medal.
The other title was for Olympic silver medallist Yipsi Moreno, who won the women’s Hammer Throw event on Saturday.
