LAm Athletes among First Guests of Paralympic Village
The conditions of the installation are excellent, Cuban Sports Institute Jose Luis Rivas (INDER) told Prensa Latina shortly after the arrival of the Cuban delegation.

This will be the home for 7,000 athletes, coaches and officials from 148 countries until September 17, the day for the conclusion of the 13th Paralympic Games.

The Village is the same having received participants in the recently concluded Olympic Games, now adapted to the characteristics of the new competitors –visually disabled, blind and physically disabled-.

The Latin American delegations were preceded by China, a delegation with 547 members, the biggest in its history.

In the opening ceremony, International Paralympic Committee director Philip Craven and other officials participated and welcomed the new guests.

Other national delegations are still arriving in Beijing, and the Paralympic torch is touring several Chinese cities, on the final stage to its inauguration.
