The main aim of the conference is to evaluate the Movement's progress since the last congress in Havana in September 2006.

The meeting will also seek to set targets for the Non-Aligned Movement from now until the next Heads of State and Government Summit to take place in Egypt in 2009, Granma newspaper reported.

The Cuban foreign minister will also be meeting privately with other delegation heads to discuss multilateral affairs.
